Manitex Valla delivers 12,000kg crane to Ainscough

Manitex Valla Cranes has delivered a new Valla 120E pick and carry crane to machinery moving and installation specialist Ainscough Industrial Services.

The all-electric DC battery powered compact crane has a maximum safe working load (SWL) of 12-000kg and includes a wrap-around hydraulic luffing fly jib with a 40-degree sweep.

The Valla 120E is an addition to the Ainscough Industrial Services fleet. It will be based at the company’s Glasgow depot to meet growing demand for its services in Scotland.

Ainscough Industrial Services Group Engineering Director Steve Edge said: “The Valla 120E is an excellent crane. It’s very reliable with very good lifting duties, can pick from the floor, and is very compact.

“Our teams like Valla cranes. They can be used with complete confidence, which is crucial given the complexity and challenges of the lifts we carry out in very confined space and to tight timescales.”

Carl Cooper, UK Sales Manager for Manitex Valla Cranes, said: “We’re delighted that Steve and his team at Ainscough Industrial Services are so pleased with their new Valla crane.

“As an electric pick and carry crane, with non-marking tyres, it is just as much at home providing zero-emissions and low-noise lifting in clean indoor environments as outdoors.

“Like all Valla cranes, the 120E is rugged and designed to last, while its precision, power and pick and carry capability ensures lifts are completed more safely and more productively than other methodologies.

The Italian-made Valla 120E has a maximum tip height of 10m, which extends to 12.5m when using the fly jib. It can lift 1,900kg at its maximum radius of 7m, or 1,100kg at 9.5m when using the fly jib.

The crane is just 2100mm wide, with front wheel drive and steering via articulating rear wheels, making it highly manoeuvrable in confined space.

It is a ride-on pick and carry crane that can be operated from its cab or via a wireless remote control. The crane has a COBO 3B6 load limiter with the latest full-colour digital display screen.

Ainscough Industrial Services is one of the UK’s largest private industrial moving and lifting companies. It operates five depots across the UK, with a head office in Wigan. Specialist services include international machinery relocation and installation plus wind turbine installation and maintenance.

Steve Edge said: “Valla pick and carry cranes, from two-tonne cranes up to the new Valla 120E, are critical for the successful delivery of our services.

“We believe in applying the safest, most productive and most sustainable components for every lifting project, and often that will involve using Valla pick and carry cranes.

“For example, for a recent project, fitting out a new canned food factory in Germany, we used one of our Valla 25EL cranes to support the installation of vacuum pipes.

“Our client had been using forklifts for this task. But we demonstrated we could deliver significant productivity improvement with a Valla crane.

We’re confident our new Valla 120E will deliver the same customer value.”
Manitex Valla Cranes manufactures pick and carry cranes with SWLs ranging from 2,250kg to 90,000kg plus diesel, DC electric battery or LPG power options.
